Gannett Street Road offers  gourmet lunch  selections, high-end  bargain hunting and  top-notch window  shopping – all within one block. From the  north, take a left off  Route 3A onto Henry Turner Bailey Road.  Park along Gannett Street Road.

Cost: $19.25 for sterling  silver earrings, turkey panini and diet cola.

WALK AROUND

Stroll the packed aisles of  CT Outfitters, a small clothing  outlet with a great selection of  name-brand clothing at half  price. Stacks and stacks of  bargain-priced jeans, bins of  great shoes and buckets of  cheap name-brand acces sories make it easy to spend  your lunch hour hunting for  deals. Pop in often and check for new arrivals  and specials – such as $11 to celebrate the store’s 11th anniversary.

an extensive selection of  wine, as well as cheese, cigars  and gifts. Get ideas for gifts, join the wine-a- month club or pick up a bottle  of Spanish wine with images of  Scituate on the label for dinner.

QUICK BITES

For homemade soups, salads and sandwiches with  gourmet flare flair, head to Circe’s Grotto. Crowds gather into the  tiny restaurant at lunch for delicious paninis on homemade bread or  creative vegetarian selections. Warm up  a chilly day with the  hot-pressed turkey, avocado and cheddar sandwich with  red  pepper mayo for $6.25.

RELAX

The area around Gannet Street Gannett Road has been  spruced up with the opening of the Greenbush rail line, and the North Scituate station can be a  bustling hub when the train rolls in.
