Lunch-break activities: If you’re looking to boost your energy during your break from work, head over to Alley Kat Lanes for some ten-pin bowling. Alley Kat is off Route 53 on Tarkiln Road in Kingston. It offers bowling during the day for just $3.15 per string, and shoes can be rented for $2.50.

Action-packed lunch breaks: If bowling isn’t your thing, The Bog rink down the street offers public skating for $5 from noon to 2 p.m. on weekdays. You’ll need to bring your own skates; rentals are not available.

Quick bites: If you don’t want to take on the crowded supermarkets on Route 3A, Bongi’s Turkey Roost in Duxbury is the perfect place for a warm homemade meal. The turkey farm has been in Bongiorno family for 50 years and still makes fresh turkey chili, turkey spaghetti sauce and a variety of other items to sell at its Route 53 location.
