TO THE RESCUE

Bob Barry

Safety officer, Weymouth

Tell us about yourself

“My dad was a police officer. He actually held my position as a safety officer before he died. My dad passed away in 1995 of brain cancer and the job came up and I was blessed to get the job.”

“My brother Eddie and my brother Jimmy are also police officers. My other brother, Sean, is a state trooper out of Springfield."

“I work with children from the elementary level all the way up to the high school level. My real concentration is on the elementary level. I do a ‘stranger danger’ program, I do bike safety, I do train safety, gun safety, computers, the Internet - anything that has a safety connection to it.”

“I care greatly about my faith. I teach CCD at Sacred Heart Church in the 10th grade. I love giving back; that was always the message that was given to me. I try to live my life by that.”
