“What I liked about being a school resource officer is the variety of the job and the impact you have on kids. I was the link between the schools and the police department.”

BIO: Marag grew up in Randolph. His father, Theodore, is a retired State Police officer. Marag graduated from Randolph High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Curry College. He also has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Anna Maria College. Before joining the police department, he worked as a power plant operator and a mutual fund accountant. He spent four years as the school resource officer at the Randolph Community Middle School and is now the night supervisor of the detective unit, overseeing the youth violence and street crimes unit.

What would you have been if not a police officer? I’ve always been interested in running a small business.

Best advice you ever got: Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy.

Person who gave it to you: My parents.

What do you like to do in your time off: Spend time with my wife and two children, coach sports, run road races and follow the Patriots and Red Sox.
