“My father was a sergeant for Pembroke. He worked here for like 39 years. He pretty much retired. I came on shortly after.”
“I’m kind of an easy-going, fun-loving guy. I like to laugh a lot. I like to have fun with what I’m doing. I’m serious, but I’m not overly serious.”
“I like helping people. I like that it’s different every day. It’s a lot of fun.”
“(Louie, police dog) lives with me. He’s my buddy. He’s always with me. It’s great. You get to drive around with a dog. He’s a good listener.”

BIO: Simmons grew up in Pembroke and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1994. He earned a degree in criminal justice and political science from Stonehill College in 1998. He was a member of the Bridgewater State College police force from 1998 to 2000 and spent the summer of 1999 working for the Oak Bluffs Police Department on Martha’s Vineyard. He lived in Pembroke until 2004, when he bought a house in Halifax. He is married.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? “A police officer.”
What would you have been if not a police officer? “I don’t think it was an option.”
Best advice you ever got: “Probably just to be honest. Tell the truth.”
Person who gave it to you: “Probably my father.”
What do you do in your time off? Fishing, hunting, sports, spending time on his boat.
