BIO: Trainer grew up in Cohasset and graduated from Cohasset High School in 1986. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Westfield State College and received a master's in criminal justice from Western New England College in 2001.
He is the department's child-safety-seat technician and is president of the MBTA's Operation Life Saver safety training program at the middle school. He lives in Scituate and is an assistant coach on his son's seventh-grade traveling basketball team. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children, Jake, 12 and Mairead, 11.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? A truck driver or a heavy equipment operator.
What would you have been if not a police officer? "Something in landscaping, masonry or carpentry. Definitely something outdoors and not an office job."
Best advice you ever got?"Preparation is the key to all success' whether it is college or career or home life - it carries through to everything you do."
Person who gave it to you?My father.
What do you do in your spare time? Traveling, boating, attending his children's activities.
