BIO: Kilroy grew up in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School in 1998. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Bridgewater State College. He was a seasonal police officer in Oak Bluffs, on Martha's Vineyard, and a full-time patrol officer for Bridgewater State College. He was hired in Hingham in 2005. Kilroy serves as a field training officer and an assistant firearms instructor. He is married and lives on the South Shore.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?"I always wanted to be a police officer."

What would you have been if not a police officer? A teacher.

Best advice you ever got? "You must learn to have compassion for those less fortunate than yourself."

Person who gave it to you? Sgt. Colin McCauley, retired Weymouth police officer and police academy instructor.

What do you do in your spare time? "I like to run, mountain bike and spend time with the family."
