“My 4-year-old has a disease called galactosemia. We spend a lot of time trying to raise money to find a cure for (her) and other children with this disease.”

BIO:Lydon grew up in Braintree and is a 1987 graduate of Braintree High. She was a loan officer with the MBTA Employee Credit Union in South Boston before joining the Braintree police force. She is the department’s sexual assault investigator and instructor for RAD (Resist Aggression Defensively) and RAD Kids. She has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Western New England College. She and her husband, Braintree police Sgt. Sean Lydon, have three children: Kyleigh, 4, Samantha, 3, and Sean Jr., 22 months.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?“A police officer.”

What would you have been if not a police officer? “As a kid, I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps. He was a Quincy police officer for 32 years.”

Best advice you ever got: “Treat people the way you want to be treated.”

Person who gave it to you: “My father, Donald Murray.”

What do you do in your spare time? “I love spending my spare time with my family.”
